Step into Violet's shoes as she embarks on her dating journey. Will you find your perfect match or will the task prove to be harder than anticipated?
Game Development
UI Design
Initial Designs
First sketches of the UI. Pink shade was supposed to match the game's theme, however, the colour of the UI could not blend in too much with the background.

After receiving feedback from the team, I focused on preparing pink and beige UI concepts, which included character headshot box and character name box.
After Feedback from the Team

After the First Playtest
Feedback received during the first playtest pointed towards keeping the UI consistent in colour across all scenes, and increasing the contrast between the text and the background.

Additional UI concepts included experimenting with blur effect and changing UI colours for different characters.

UI Experiments
Horror UI
The game's horror twist required a separate, adequate UI. First version was more clear and legible, however, the second concept with scribbles across it fit the horror idea more.

Concepts of options menu for Violet's Dates. It would be accessible through pressing "Esc" during gameplay. All versions contain different ornament arrangements. Ultimately, concept #5 was chosen as it was the most clear to the player.
Options Screen
Concepts of heartmeter, one of the key mechanics of the game. It was designed so that the amount in the bar would increase or decrease depending on how much affection a character currently holds for the player.

Sound Design
Bedroom scene in the beginning of the game required a calm, relaxing music, which would ease the player into the story. I browsed through Freesound library and eventually chose Happy Chill Loop by Serge Quadrado for the final game version.
Horror Café
To match the sudden shift from a cosy cafe into a horror one, I decided to add an abrupt loud buzzing noise and ominous music to slightly jumpscare the players. All positions were found on Freesound.

To increase the immersion in the scene outside of the cafe, I decided to add a calm, town-style ambience sound.
UI Sound Effect
As the UI designer of the team, I searched for the most fitting sound effects to occur upon pressing buttons or interacting with other UI elements.

Minor Fixes

Fixing typos, adding interpunction

Removing choice effect spoilers

Horror version of Yami headshot prepared in Procreate. Ultimately, it was not used in the final game as we had to prioritise other aspects before the deadline.

A headshot of the waiter prepared in Procreate. As he was not a major character in the story, I kept his design a simple grey shape.

Some of the minor fixes I introduced before releasing the final version of the game. They included fixing typos, adjusting dialogue choices and last-minute UI additions.
