Playground Concept Sketch
Based on research and concepts I recreated the playground environment in 3D using Blender. I was mainly focused on composing the layout so I used ready assets found on Sketchfab and adjusted them where necessary.

As the project progressed I realised I would need to scope down from creating 3D assets due to time constraints. The final playground environment I prepared was made in 2D and it was still based on the original concept.

Kitchen Colour Palette
-
Should contain clashing colours

-
Should contain warm and cold tones to decrease the visual appeal

-
Should contain a dark accent

In the final version of the game, the original concept of the kitchen did not appear, as the scene from the narrative happened in another place. Instead, a different, modern kitchen appeared at a later stage of story progression.

3D Environment Design
In the early stages of development the goal was to create the game in 3D. I began with making Afterlife in Unreal Engine, which was a vast maze for the players to explore. Upon exploration, the players would be able to stumble upon a door, which would take them to the next gameplay stages.
